Godhumai Rava Adai

Hi friends,

Today it is the time for another simple, healthy and flavourful recipe.

I think many of you are like me, planning what to do for dinner or lunch box or breakfast. But if we have some kind of batters ready, then life is just a breeze. We can just think of what side dish is needed.

Godumai rava or broken wheat is a very healthy ingredient. People say its good for weight loss too.

It was always upma if you think of godumai rava. Upma is not favoured by all at our house. So started making adai out of it. It tastes yummy and it is very very similar to ragi adai which I had shared earlier.

Ingredients

Godumai rava       2 cups

Tur dal                   1/3 cup

Urad dal                 1/3 cup

Channa dal            1/3 cup

Red chilly               6

Hing

Salt

Soak the three dals in water for 45 mins to 1 hour. Once it is soaked, grind it in the mixie to a coarse paste with chilly, hing, salt. Add the godumai  rava to the ground dal paste . Grind it once more. Add water to adjust the consistency. Leave it aside for 15 minutes .

We grind the rava so that it digests easily. In this particular recipe, I have kept it simple. But we can always add vegetables just like ragi adai.

In a hot tava, add a big ladle of batter and spread it. Add gingelly oil at the sides. Once you start seeing corners crisping up, turn the adai to the other side.

When both sides are cooked, serve it hot with idli podi, or butter and jaggery.

Please try this healthy recipe.
