Chole pulao

Welcome to another blog . It is the time of another lunch box recipe. Now we dont have the need for recipes for tiffin box. But once we come back to our routines, we need all these things.
I am waiting for everything to return to normalcy.
Chole pulao is a perfect lunch box recipe for kids and adults alike.
Without further ado
Ingredients
White channa - 100 gms
Onion-2
Tomato puree -4 tbsp
Ginger - 1 inch
Garlic - 3 or 4 pods
Turmeric pdr-1 tsp
Chilli pdr - 1 tsp
Basmati rice - 1 cup
Bay leaf -1
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Cardamom -3
Garam masala - 1 tbsp
Coriander pdr - 1 tsp
Soak channa for 8 hrs . Pressure cook white channa with a tea bag till it is soft.
Cook Basmati rice with 1 bay leaf, cinnamon and cardamom till rice is 3/4 th done.
Now in a wide bottomed kadai, add ghee/ oil and add onion, ginger and garlic. Fry these till it gets light brown. Now add tomato puree to it. Cook these till it gets a little dry. Now add turmeric pdr,salt,chilly pdr and coriander pdr. Fry these well.
Add cooked channa to it with the cooked water. Let it boil for 5 minutes . Add garam masala and keep the kadai at a medium flame till chole gets to a semi dry consistency. Now add the cooked rice to it and toss it very lightly and keep the kadai closed and cook it as you would in a dum.
After 10 minutes in a medium flame, switch off gas.
Serve it with onion raita or papad.
It tastes good even when it is not hot, hence a perfect tiffin box recipe.
