In a kadai, put a tbsp of oil and add mustard seeds, u.dal and c.dal to fry. Once it is browned , add 1 chopped green chilly, curry leaves and finely chopped onions. Once the onions are browned a little, add finely chopped brinjal pieces. Saute them for 5 minutes. Add salt, curry powder and turmeric powder to it.
Saute it for 5 mins in medium flame till brinjal gets a little mushy. Once it is mushy, add homemade tamarind paste to it. Saute it for a minute .
Now add required water to bring it to gravy consistency. Boil for 5 minutes till raw smell of tamarind goes away.
Once boiled, switch the gas off. Garnish with coriander leaves.
