9 days of navaratri - Day 1
Hi friends,
Today is the start of navaratri 2020. Every year navaratri brings lots of happiness, family get togethers, friends meeting and lots of house hopping and sundal eating. Most importantly, dressing up for the 9 days .
This year,due to this pandemic, not sure who will come even if you invite. But one thing for sure nothing can dampen our spirit of navaratri.
So decided to do everything in the same way as every time and enjoy it as usual.
Like every year,this year too all we will be eating no onion no garlic recipes for the 9 days.
I will be sharing the things that I make and will share recipes if something new.
Day 1
For naivedyam
Ven pongal in the morning

The same sambar with vazhakkai curry
Snacks
Red cow peas sundal - usually I soak the cow peas 3 to 4 hrs . Then keep it in pressure cooker for 3 - 4 whistles. In a kadai , temper mustard seeds ,urad dal add boiled red cow peas with salt. Add sundal powder and grated coconut and mix well.
Yummy sundal is ready
