No onion,no garlic Rajasthani gatte ki kadhi

 Hi friends,

When sometimes life takes over, even your favourite things take a backseat.I was busy last week. I cooked the usual things. But I didn't get the time to blog about it nor take pics about it.

Finally I got the time to click some pics. Without pics, food blog doesn't work right😉

Today ,I am going to share a favourite of our family,  Rajasthani gatte ki kadhi. This is a no onion, no garlic version.

The Rajasthani Gatte ki kadhi is a curd based gravy that is simmered along with gram flour dumplings.

kadhi

gram flour           - 2 tbsp

curd                     -2 cup

red chilli pdr         - 1/4 tsp

To make gattes, in a bowl ,combine all the ingredients given for gatte. Add few tsps of water to knead to make a firm dough. Knead well to get soft gatta. Roll the dough into a cylinder and cut small discs and keep. In a kadai, add water to boil. once water boils, add gatte to the water and wait till it comes to the top and boil for another 5 minutes. Drain the gattes and keep it aside.

To make kadhi, in a kadai ,combine the curd, gram flour, turmeric pdr, salt and mix it well till it becomes a smooth paste.Add 2 cups of water to it and mix well. Bring kadhi to boil and keep whisking. Turn the heat to low and add chilli pdr, cinnamon and bay leaf . Simmer it for 10 minutes.

Add the cooked gatte and boil for few minutes. In a small pan add ghee and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds for tempering along with curry leaves.

Add the tempered mix into the gravy .Hot gatte ki kadhi is ready.Serve it with moong dal ki khichdi

you can also use it to make a subji for chapathi. I had done it in 30 days challenge along with gatte ki pulao.
