Day 24 - Maharashtra street food
Hi friends,
Today I am here with Maharashtra street food. Maharashtra is one of the most developed and prosperous states of India. This state plays important role in social and political life. We have been to Mumbai,Nashik and Shirdi. We had a good shopping, eating and a spiritual vacation. I have family in these places and had a lovely time with them all.
Maharashtra cuisine includes mild and spicy dishes. Wheat, rice, vegetables, fruits and lentils are dietary staples. Peanuts, cashews are used in cooking.
It is famous for its street food. I love street food and my family loves to eat street food. So had to make it definitely.
Today I made
Vada pav is the first thing we need to have in Mumbai. I made homemade pav bread at home. Stuffed pav with batata vada ,green chutney and dry garlic chutney. Served it with green chilly.
Pav Bhaji is the thing I love the most. Made bhaji and served it with buttered pav and chopped onions and coriander leaves.
Misal pav is another maharashtrian speciality. It is made of moth beans. I used a mixture of moth beans ,black eyed peas and white peas. Served it with buttered pav and chopped onions. Also this is topped with farsan( mixture).
This is also another speciality. Patties are made of potato and pan fried . This is topped with a gravy called Ragda. This is made with white peas. This is served with onions and green chutney.
Vada is made with soaked sabudana and boiled potato. It also has roasted and powdered peanuts. These are deep fried in oil.
My parents loved all the dishes. They too are fond of street food. Had a fabulous early dinner today.
Mouth watering πall are my favourite,π
