Day 20 - Madhya pradesh breakfast

Hi friends,
Today I have come a little early. Its breakfast today. Now we have reached the heart of the country . Its Madhya pradesh. It is rich in mineral resources . More than 30% of their area is under forest cover.

Day 20 - Madhya pradesh breakfast 

The vegetarian cuisine of Madhya pradesh is very similar to Rajasthan and Gujarat. Jowar, wheat are the staples. I had a neighbor who always told me that Indori poha is the best and It is much better than the maharashtrian version. I regularly make poha for breakfast. Frankly, I didn't know the difference between aloo kanda poha and Indori poha before. So I planned to make it today as part of madhya pradesh. 
Jalebi and poha is the best combo there.

Today I made 

Indori poha 
Aval is soaked and cooked with peanuts ,potato and onions. It is made salty and sweet. It is topped with onion, sev ,coriander leaves. This is a light breakfast. It can also be had as a evening snack with tea.

Jalebi
This is the combo that they always have for breakfast. I am not a dessert person. I don't cook lots of sweets. But today being my husband's star birthday,  I decided to make it. I made it with wheat flour and made it instant. I also had to make with ziplock bag as I didn't have a squeeze bottle.This is my first time making it. So it looks a little bad as I didn't know how to get its regular shape. But it tasted great.

Palak puri
Ground palak is mixed with atta to make a dough. As usual poori is made.

Aloo subji
Potato is cooked with onions, tomatoes and  garlic and garam masala. 

It is a lovely breakfast with all the flavors.
