Day 16 - Punjab

Hi friends,
Today I have come with a bang. Bang , fun means Punjab. We have gone to Amritsar once. It is the place where we can experience serenity, calmness as well as energy. If you want peace, calmness in your life ,visit Golden temple at least once. Even when it is too crowded, you can see people patiently waiting for their turn to go inside. That is the place you definitely need to go. Second ,if you want energy, goosebumps moment, or excitement to the core, go to Attari/Wagah border. The excitement you get there stays with you the entire day. It is also a definite place to go.

Day 16- Punjab

Punjab  cuisine is world famous.  Everyone knows most of the dishes. It is rich with butter and ghee. It is very tasty.
It is my husband's birthday today and he loves Amritsari kulcha. So I made that today.

Today I made

Amritsari aloo kulcha
This is a maida bread with potato stuffing with onions, whole spices ,coriander.  I made with half maida, half wheat today. I didn't use ghee as much as needed.

Shaam savera kofta
This is a new recipe that I learnt from sanjeev Kapoor's page. It is a culmination of palak paneer, makhani sauce and kofta. The kofta is made with paneer inside the palak balls. Paneer tastes heavenly with a pinch of cardamom.

Aloo subji
This is a basic aloo subji with onion, tomato, ginger, garlic.

Achari paneer tikka
Paneer pieces are marinated with curd, green chilly pickle, coriander, whole spices for 20 minutes. Then roasted on a tava.

Tamarind mint chutney
This is similar to what we had in amritsar. Slices of onions are mixed with green chutney and tamarind chutney. It is spicy and sweet at the same time.

My mother made Gajar halwa today. So kept that for dinner too.

Another comfortable place for me to blog on. Please try and let me know.
