Pasta marinara with handmade pasta and homemade sauce

Hi friends, 
All kids love to eat pizza and pasta. But ,at this point of time we are worried about ordering outside. They taste good at restaurants as they add so much cheese, cream. It tastes so rich . We can make pasta at home too. I am talking about the ingredient.
We know pasta comes in many shapes. I have been successful in making two shapes out of wheat flour at home.
Today I am going to share the recipe to make pasta by hand as well as a simple tomato sauce.

First let's make a simple pasta dough
Most of the dough comes with flour,egg, salt and water.
Here we are using wheat flour, rava, salt, oil , water

Pasta dough
Take 1 cup of atta in a wide bowl. Take 2 tbsp of rava. We are adding rava for the texture. Add salt, 1 tbsp of oil. Mix well. Add water little by little until it forms a stiff dough. Knead it for 10 minutes. It should not be like chapati dough. Once the dough is ready, keep it aside for an hour. 
After an hour , take the dough and make it into any shape you want. I made fettuccine on this particular day. 
Roll small chapati sized dough balls into thin rectangles. On top of it sprinkle a little flour and fold it into half then again sprinkle some flour and fold into half. You will get like kerchief when it is folded in lengthwise twice. It is absolutely necessary to flour the rolls, otherwise it will stick on to itselves. Then cut the folded dough into 1/2 inch pieces. Take the 1/2 inch pieces, separate the folds and keep it aside with little flour sprinkled.
 

We all know packet pastas take 6-8 minutes to cook. But this fresh pasta takes just 2-3 minutes. 
Cook the pasta in boiling water.  The pasta when cooked rises to the top. This is an indication for us to take it out of water. It will take approximately 2 minutes. 
Fresh pasta is ready. 

Now we need sauce to go with it. Here too we have a variety of sauces that go with this pasta.
Today we made a basic pasta sauce.
It can be stored in the fridge for a week.

Pasta sauce 
Tomato      :- 8
Onion         :-2
Garlic          :-6 pods
Butter         :-1 tbsp
Salt
Italian spices
In a pan, heat a tbsp of butter. Add chopped onion and garlic to it. Once onion is translucent, add chopped tomatoes and salt . Cook this mixture till everything is mushy. It will take around 10 minutes. 
After 10 minutes, add italian spices and cook for 5 minutes till everything comes together. Switch off the gas. Let it cool. After cooling, grind it into a coarse paste.  Pasta sauce is ready.

Pasta Marinara
To make pasta marinara, add oil to the pan. I added chopped carrot and capsicum to the oil to include vegetables. Once the vegetables are cooked, add the pasta sauce and mix well. Then add cooked pasta and toss them in the sauce. To make it saucy, you can add cooked pasta water to it.
Just before serving,add grated cheese to the dish.

Some tips
If needed salt and pepper can be added to the sauce,
If making pasta sauce just for one day, you can reduce the quantity and combine the second step and the third step.
This sauce can be used as spreads for bread, for pizza ,for sandwiches etc
The spices I have used are from keya brand.
