Day 9 - Mizoram

Hi friends,
Today it is Mizoram day. Mizoram is one of the seven states of northeast. It is the land of Mizos. It is a mountainous region with agrarian economy.

Day 9 - Mizoram 
The cuisine of Mizoram is heavily non vegetarian. When I was searching for the dishes,  I found out some videos which had recipes in native language. It was difficult to find authentic recipes. Rice is the staple diet. Again no oil or less oil is used for cooking. 
From the available details, I have made few 
dishes.
Today I have made 

panch phoron tarkari 
This is a dish made of vegetables with panch phoron spices and tbsp of milk. It is very flavorful. I have used pumpkin and potato for this.
Panch phoran spices are mustard, jeera, nigella, methi , fennel seeds. 

Mizo Bai
Bai is the first thing you see in Mizoram. It is a stew with vegetables, meat and rice. I added vegetables in the boiling water with green chilly,ginger ,garlic. Finally added a tbsp of  cooked rice. Fermented soybean is added.

Mizo veg chow
Chow is a noodle dish made with meat and vegetables.  I have added carrot, beans,cabbage . It is a simple noodle dish with onion ,garlic, pepper powder. 

Hmarcha rawt
It is a chutney made with roasted green chillies, raw onion and ginger. It is very very spicy. So I made with 4 chillies, 1/2 onion .
